Organic fertilizer company ready for business mission to North America

Sea & Soil Redox Refinery Pte Ltd is gearing up for Investment Fiji’s North America mission, a crucial opportunity to expand their market presence and establish valuable partnerships.

Director Rohini Hamid is optimistic about the mission’s potential to accelerate their growth and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Investment Fiji's outbound mission to the United States of America and Canada in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, and the Fiji Trade Commission North America, is scheduled from May 4th to May 14th, 2024.

While other business leaders are self-funded, Hamid is among the two participants who has received sponsorship for her participation in the mission, facilitated by an agreement between Investment Fiji and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to both organizations for their generous sponsorship, emphasizing the invaluable support towards my business. I am further motivated to participate in this business mission due to the growing interest in our products from large organizations and horticulturists in North America,” expressed Hamid.

Established in 2020, Sea & Soil Redox Refinery Pte Ltd has rapidly emerged as a leading player in Fiji's agricultural industry, specializing inorganic agriculture input products such as Seaweed and Biochar Technology.

With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the company aims to leverage this mission to secure partnerships and distribution channels, ultimately enhancing Fiji's reputation as a hub for sustainable agriculture practices.

“The agricultural sector in the USA and Canada is increasingly focused on sustainable and organic farming practices, aligning well with our range of certified organic fertilizers, pesticides, and biochar products. Additionally, there is growing interest in exotic crops such as rare Liberica coffee, presenting lucrative opportunities for our business,” she mentioned.

"We aim to secure concrete leads for partnerships and distribution channels, finalize agreements with potential collaborators, and generate significant interest in our products among stakeholders in both the countries," Hamid added.

Sea & Soil's commitment to sustainability and innovation has already earned recognition globally, including grant funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade(DFAT), Australia and registered patents for their ground-breaking products. The focus now is to establish a strong foothold in the USA and Canada markets.

"Our success in international markets will enhance Fiji's reputation as a hub for sustainable and organic agriculture practices. Moreover, increased production and export opportunities will create more jobs locally, contributing to economic growth and stability in Fiji," she added.

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty while emphasizing on the broader impact of the upcoming mission, affirmed the organization’s dedication to facilitating opportunities for local businesses on the international stage.

“Our upcoming mission to North America highlights Fiji's commitment to fostering global trade partnerships and driving economic growth,” added Chetty.
