Labasa Sets Stage for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit
The Labasa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) in collaboration with Investment Fiji is set to host the first-ever Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit 2024, scheduled to take place on May 18th, 2024, in Labasa, Vanua Levu.
This event marks a new chapter for Labasa's business landscape, bringing together stakeholders of all sizes and sectors for the first time.
The Summit aims to ignite a spirit of collaboration while recognising the town's evolving business environment and increasing demand.
"The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit provides a crucial platform for open dialogue and collaboration," said Investment Fiji CEO, Kamal Chetty.
"By working together, we can address bottlenecks hindering economic activity and build amore confident business environment in Labasa."
“The Summit will also be the perfect platform to address areas which need to become a priority and key topics to advance the economy of Labasa and Vanua Levu forward,” he added.
LCCI President, Vinesh Dayal, shared similar sentiments.
"This Summit represents a significant step forward for Labasa's economic development,” he said.
“By facilitating knowledge sharing and fostering collaborative solutions, we aim to unlock Labasa's full potential as a thriving business hub and a Green Town,” added Dayal.
Government representatives, academics, civil society organizations, and private sector leaders will convene at the summit to discuss areas of action and plans of upscaling the economy forward.
Through a series of panel discussions, and interactive sessions, the Summit will delve into key areas critical to Labasa's economy.
The microeconomic landscape, potential for growth, infrastructure needs, and diversification of the economic base will be key thematic areas up for discussion during the event.
The Labasa Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit promises to be a catalyst for positive change and by fostering collaboration and generating actionable solutions, it aims to pave the way for a more prosperous and resilient Labasa economy.
